I hate to just blow off what most people think....ya know how dave hates God, but i think its a bit of a show. if you truely listen to every lyric he has wrote it Jesus or God, its not i hate you. i feel a bit of respect somewhat...
i believe this song has alot to do with him wanting to believe. you guys i think hit it head on with his sis, but i think that when he says

that he has decided he wants to believe. no more questioning it?
I think what he is saying with that, pastorant, is that he wants to believe in Jesus but can't because of such a terrible thing happening to someone so close to him. He is saying he wish he could.

i read in an interview this morning that he doesnt like to talk about lyrics because he likes to keep it open.... i totally agree. nothing raises more question than dave matthews lyrics. all in all i think he is a lyrical genius. i just kinda get tired of the dave hates God thing, when that would be close to impossible listening to his lyrics. but like he said he likes to keep it open...he plays with our mind and makes us want more!
