Blabbermouth.net or the actual Down website, I can't remember which, had an interview with Phil posted where he talked about the meanings of the songs on the Down II album.
He said that the song "Stained Glass Cross" was about a promise made between a father and son. The promise was obviously that whoever survived the other in death would hang a stained glass cross over the casket or the grave.
I really like this song, mostly because of the electric organ. Makes me wonder if this song was also their way of paying homage to Deep Purple or any other of their favorite bands from the 70's that liked to use the electric organ.
