Maybe you grew up some place, but once you could go to college or whatever, you moved far away, and didn't come back until a long time later, when you had such a heavy burden to go back to you beginnings (the verses). When you're there, you wonder how your life would be different if you never left (the chorus), but then you're reminded that it doesn't really matter, as long as you keep on using your right to live (last stanza).
