Okay, thank everyone for just saying "this is awesome", and not posting anything about what they think the song means. What's the name of this website again? lol. wow. Anyways. I'm confused, because there seem to be obvious themes of death, and love from beyond the grave or something mixed with some interesting mention of a foreign tradition. but i can't piece any of it together. but i'm sure all of you probably feel that way just a little. what is it that i'm missing? Something about waking up with someone and "seeing" (my eyes were dark till you woke me and told me that opening was just the start) everything laid out in front of him like it would be for the rest of their lives whether their love was right or wrong. finding that perfect person, a song, a wedding(implied by what mickt had to say), spending a life with someone season after season and growing with them and imagining it even after death? it's just the order of things and then the chorus that has me baffled. feel free to pick this apart, i just need someone more clever than me to help me figure this out. ;)

Yes it definitely sounds like a wedding song to me. I think the lyrics on the site might be incorrect. When I change the lyrics in the following ways, the song makes more sense to me: "And the seasons Will change us new...If it were[n’t] true..." and "Soil and six feet under..[Kept] just like we were Before you knew you'd know me..." To me the song is a story about meeting someone and then falling in love. The recurring theme is that the other partner "knows me" (like no one else does and so this is special)....
