I interpreted this song as 'your cutting diamonds with a rubber knife' as her singing about a guy who is
a trouble maker(maby her dad) who takes the innosence of girls by molesting them, the guys private part is the rubber knife, and the diamonds are the virgins he is 'cutting'. I think that it is possible that she was molested when she was younger by her father, and blames her mom for not knowing about it and not being aable to stop it. What do you guys think? Please comment I would appreciate your opinions on this interpretation, thanks all you awesome Cardigans supporters
I don't agree at all. I'm sorry, but your cutting diamonds interpretation doesn't make a lot of sense to me- surely if this was about a molester the Cardigans would have been able to come up with a better allegory.

Now his children are grown-ups and he wants to make up with them ("tell me you're sorry, fax me your will"), but it's too late. "You owe me something still" = he owes her her childhood and will never be able to give it back to her. Yet still he tries- like cutting diamonds with a rubber knife.
