I completely agree with "woweezowee." I am an addict in and out of recovery, feeling like a pathological screw up most of the time, definitely able to relate to the feelings he conveys in this song. I'm going to stay out of the whole what's-the-real-name-of-the-song debate, though.
Pretty much all of his material has the same or similar undertones, the emotional disturbance that motivates the use of whatever drug you choose, be it human, chemical, etc. to try to fill that void inside that feels like it's growing faster than you can fill it until it becomes larger than you are and you fall into it, like Elliott did.
