Open Arms Lyrics

Cover art for Open Arms lyrics by Gary Go

I think that Gary Go is talking about life in general and also something more personal - a relationship. He is saying that when things are bad you have to tell yourself that they will get better. Not everything is going to go your way in life, but everybody has to deal with things. Nobody's life is ever perfect. If you go through life trying to be perfect, you're not going to get anywhere. He is also saying that you should make the most of life and the opportunities you are given -

"I've gotta take these chances where they are"

I read in his blog that in his video he gets to be something he always wanted to be (an astronaut) -

"whatever happened to the list of things I wanted to be"

I think he's saying that if you don't take opportunities when they are there, you'll regret it later in life and that these opportunities may not come round again.

I also think he could be talking about society and change in this song, particularly at the beginning. People should be more truthful, more forgiving and give apologies when they are owed. People should be less selfish.

There are a number of themes within this song. Life, relationships, society, change. I think it is up to the listener what they themselves make of it.

One thing - anyone know what the correct lyrics are for

"Yeah, the words are on the seam"

I added the lyrics myself and was never sure about this line and am quite sure it's incorrect.

An amazing song.
