I feel this song is about a girl and a guy (as usual, kind of idiosyncratic for BBC). She says that she loves the narrator behind her boyfriend's back, but she doesn't care because she hates the way he looks at life (Stanza 1), and that's how she justifies it.
The narrator, contrary to what most people would do, tells her that it's wrong (see the chorus). It seems that the girl takes the guy away from a party or a get together because he says that they should head back, as if to say they should head back to where her boyfriend is.
The second stanza shows that the narrator holds a little bit of contempt for what she just did, as if the boyfriend saw or something along those lines. He also reveals that she changes her moral values on a whim to justify whatever she does, to make her feel less guilty, which the narrator doesn't like.

I like this song. Especially the chorus.
