I'm not so sure that she's even saying that he's all that outside the bedroom either. Think about it - someone who calls '15 times a day' is not only insecure, they're also a bit controlling. What happens if you fail to answer one of those many calls?

Madcap, I think you're totally off the mark - what the song is showing is that despite this guy's apparent surface qualities, in some ways it's just a front. A guy who doesn't take the time to at least try to satisfy his woman the way she's tried to satisfy him, is either inexperienced (doesn't know he should) or extremely selfish (doesn't feel like he needs to). And there isn't anything in the song to indicate that his lack stems from inexperience.

The disappointment in the song is much less about physical prowess in the bedroom than about the motivation to want your partner to have as good a time as you're having - and what she's complaining about is that lack of motivation. He doesn't even seem to be noticing that she's not having a good time, much less doing much in the way of trying to 'make her scream' (with orgasm, is what she means). The follow-on being that if he doesn't care how she's feeling in the bedroom...can he really also be caring how she's feeling anywhere outside it? I think she's essentially saying that she is discovering that his caring demeanor outside the bedroom is likely only there to get her into the bedroom; and once there, his real [selfish] nature is showing itself. Ergo, he is nice...but actually, he is mean.
