i dont think this song is as simple as it sounds. she's not being all noble trying to warn this girl about her ex being 'not man enough'. the truth is, she's missing the ex and she's jealous this girl married him so she's slagging the guy off trying to hide her jealousy.
a) why would u bother if u truly didn't care about ur ex? obviously u care enough to know they're married and trying to ruin their relationship by reminding the girl how much her husband used to love this other woman (who wants to hear that?!)
b) she explicitly says 'i'm not thinking about him', which is an obvious lie cos she keeps asking the girl to ask him about their past
c) she reminisces he 'begged to stay' with her, but he wasn't 'man enough' (said no to him) but regrets it now
d) she's jealous that they 'couldn't work it out', but it obviously did for them (cos they're married). she tries to sabotage it by saying 'it makes no sense cos he will never change'
i think this is a classic case of not knowing what u're missing til it's gone....
i disagree totally.. it's the stupid wife that thinks that Toni is after her husband.. while Toni is saying that she's already been there, done that and got RID of him so why would the wife even think she wants back some trash she already threw out? She's basically telling the wife that she realized the man was no good, she decided to do something about it and get rid of him, he wanted her to take him back but she refused so she's clueless as to why the wife would even think she wanted him back after all...

I left HIM and maybe you should ask him why.. since you obviously don't know the type of individual you are dealing with...

I agree completely. She's jealous and trying to make herself feel better by telling his present girl how bad he is and that it's not gonna work out.

And she's bragging: "I already had your man" - such a stupid and childish statement.

Nice tune, though. I like hearing it.
