I suspect it's very blunt in its meaning. The narrator felt odd one morning, just off. And he found out it was going to be bad weather and he fell into some sort of trance just rethinking the weather. As he beat the words into his mind, he recalled his love, who was all he "needed to get by". During all of this, he is driving his favorite person (the love interest) around and he had one of those rare moments when you believe in some sort of higher existence because never could something be more beautiful than that person that was with you at that exact moment and it was impossible to have that person not be created by some sort of cosmic power. It's one of those moments when there just HAS to be a god because the world just seems too powerful, too mysterious, too strange for just science.
