He seems to be completely unaware" - we endlessly pursue career advancement, wealth, power, fame, completely unaware that following this road will not get us anywhere

There's always one more mountain left to climb" - it's never enough for us. Part of the human condition is that we're never satisfied

He doesn't know what's on the other side

He hasn't found a reason to say no" - a reference perhaps to the days of the European explorers and conquistadors, but aren't we still of the same mindset today?
@LaBradford22 I totally understand and agree with your interpretation, but I have another one that is similar. It doesn't have to all be about fame and glory. It doesn't have to be about reaching that high. It could just be about someone who is trying to find where they belong in this very difficult world we live in. Someone trying to find that niche. Something a lot simpler. Perhaps someone with mental health issues such as myself. Trying to figure out where they belong and what paths are available to them.

It doesn't have to be about reaching that high. It could just be about someone who is trying to find where they belong in this very difficult world we live in. Someone trying to find that niche.
