I can't believe no one has commented on this song yet. This song has a lot to say to us today ...

"The traveller is always leaving town He never has the time to turn around And if the road he's taken isn't leading anywhere He seems to be completely unaware" - we endlessly pursue career advancement, wealth, power, fame, completely unaware that following this road will not get us anywhere

"The traveller is always leaving home The only kind of life he's ever known When every moment seems to be A race against the time There's always one more mountain left to climb" - it's never enough for us. Part of the human condition is that we're never satisfied

"The traveller awaits the morning tide He doesn't know what's on the other side But something deep inside of him Keeps telling him to go He hasn't found a reason to say no" - a reference perhaps to the days of the European explorers and conquistadors, but aren't we still of the same mindset today?

Beautiful song. Very deep.

My Interpretation

@LaBradford22 I totally understand and agree with your interpretation, but I have another one that is similar. It doesn't have to all be about fame and glory. It doesn't have to be about reaching that high. It could just be about someone who is trying to find where they belong in this very difficult world we live in. Someone trying to find that niche. Something a lot simpler. Perhaps someone with mental health issues such as myself. Trying to figure out where they belong and what paths are available to them.
