I saw The Killers live just less than one month ago, and after performing this song,Brandon made a comment,
something like "...this song is about when you wake up in the morning and everything's changed...you try and try and hope you will feel the same way again...but nothing seems to help..."
So yes, sounds to me not exactly like a divorce, but maybe like a break up.
