As with 'Happiness' I hadn't listened to this song much from this album when I first got it.
However, after listening through the album a few more times I've found that I do actually like this song a lot more than I did when I first heard it.
It's very different for the Fray; a lot more sombre than most of their other music.
I agree that it can be interpretted as a boy and girl in the midst of a painful break up in which neither are admitting their faults.
However, this song also reminds me a lot of the current 90210 series; especially of the storyline of Adrianna and her pregnancy.
Where it says 'her bag is now much heavier' it reminds me of the burden that is now on that character.
This isn't just applicable to the programme, but also to real life, and to anyone who finds themself in that same situation.
This is similar to Skins S2 in which Jal becomes pregnant, and the advisor tells her that she has a lot to carry, and is weighed down.
The overall song itself other than this line could be speaking of the narrator's feelings about what has happened, and the inability he has to cope - like Navid with Adrianna in 90210.
Just a suggested and more unlikely meaning to this song, however that is what it reminds me of.
It's a beautiful song and really slow; befitting of the album overall.
