"To live an unfettered life-- THAT should be what it makes you want to do!"
-- Lux Interior
The Cramps seem to have written this song as their manifesto-- a deadly warning to poseurs and a war cry to rock'n'rollers.
It may also be about how the original music is the most real, a view held by Lux Interior to all accounts. There are references to 1960s band The Trashmen and the classic rock song "Louie Louie" ["Louie Louie Louie Lou-eye/ The bird's the word and do you know why"] Phrases like "You ain't no punk, you punk!" "You gotta live until you're dead/ You got to rock till you see red now" and "You can't dig me, you can't dig NOTHIN'" are further evidences of the general intent.
@LEnfer I like how you got this completely wrong. You are the punk in this scenario because you don,t understand the lyrics. He clearly talks about dealing drugs none of this has anything to do with posers.

@chronict Even if he interpreted the meaning wrong (which he did) there's no need to be a dick about it. Unless the song writer is a child and every line is literal, most are very open to interpretation so mistakes can be made. So get off your high horse and stop being a dick.
