I think when it says "my child" its kind of like god talking to you. I'm not exactly religious but that's how i see it. He's saying to enjoy life because you are amazing and you deserve an awesome life. "keep all your crows away. hold skinny wolves at bay" that's saying not to let anything get you down. Crows bother and destract people. skinny wolves must be hungry and want to eat you. But keep them away.
"in silver piles of smiles may all your days be gold my child" have a good life.
a necklace of leaves" keep your head up. saying your head should be so high that the leaves surround your neck. not literal of course.
"spirits in the trees" Kind of the same. Keep your spirits high up like the tops of the trees.
