This song is most definately how im feeling at the moment. its basically saying that i do everything by the book so that the future is something to look forward to becasue youl know everything and just be able to enjoy the life, but your life at the moment sucks becasue its all work and no play.
Also your independance gets the better of you , until people arnt quite sure wether you want help , or to just be left alone.
The lyrics "dancing in the dark" may be a euphamism , but it still means a lot to me because sometimes i stay up all night just listening to music ( a lot of tegan and sara) and dancing in the dark depths of my bedroom : its fun because noone can see you.
