This is a great torch song which I think really invokes that sense of longing for someone who is far away. Amber and Joy wrote this song for the troops and it beautifully invokes the sense of loss and sadness that comes with having a loved one go off to war and the worry that comes with knowing that they are far away and may not return. Yet at the same time there is sense of standing firm and being strong for that loved one who is fighting in a battle and performing their duty. There is a sense that the loved one who is far away is kept close in the hearts and memories of those at home so that they are never really as "distant as they seem" nor are the easily replaced. And for the loved one that is at war and far away, home can not only be found in the place that they have left behind but most importantly within the loved ones who are waiting for them to return safely - it's a beautiful song.
