This is one of Morrissey's most beautiful songs in my opinion, an unusually simplistic approach for the man, just a few rhyming couplets, but works to great effect. The juxtaposition of this and "I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday" defines Morrissey in my eyes.
For me its about the realisation that you are not to be happy, the things you so desperately seek are so far from you, unobtainable, and the sadness this brings. The title has always fascinated me, "Seasick, Yet Still Docked"...my interpretation of the title is that he is sick of life, wore down by its constant disapointments and lows, but still alive and keeping on, powering through (docked). Beautifully tragic, but not without hope if you listen to this with the next track on the album
