I cant accept that this song differs from the forever's storyline. I perceive this as about a man receiving visions from the planet Y warning about mans fate. He says that he is having dreams about living beneath the waves and cold machines rising from the deep (as happened to the forevers)and getting warnings from "them" "living inside my head" and being spoken to in dreams. He is put in an institute where the nurse tries to assure him that there is no-one out there (aliens) and he seen as being mentally ill due to the voices. The part about clones I think refers to the forevers planting their seed (d.n.a) on earth and starting the human race.
