When things are just going to shit for you, the only thing you can really think about is how awful things are for you, and that's only made worse when you've got some perspective. Chances are, there are millions of other people in the world who have it far worse than you do.. but that doesn't really help you. Perspective just makes you feel guilty for feeling sorry for yourself, and that just makes it worse.
