regardless of the small stories that are written within the song (i.e. cheating) I think this is a great song in that it shows the complications of most.. typical relationships.

the lyrics are a "beautiful disaster" (for the lack of better terms.) its very common for two people in relationships to feel unequal to each other. the constant battle for affection, and to show affection will destruct the relationship. it's sad to see so many people "compromise" by saying "because he/she did this for me, i need to do this in return for him/her." ... once one person in the relationship feels starved of affection, outside relationships begin to form and "intrude" on the original... which is much of what this song is talking about.
