at first i didn't like this song as much as some of the other weepies songs, but after i've listened to it i can really appreciate its beauty.
the first verse is really about being shunned, which can in ways relate to the book the outsiders
but i think the song is mainly about not belonging and when it says
"From here i see rain i hear thunder
somewhere there's sun"
these lines to me say that right now i'm in this stormy dark place, but the sun is shining somewhere and i just have to get there... and this leads to the last verse
"open your window and look upon
all the kinds of alive you can be"
and so again its saying you may not belong now, or feel good now, but you can change your life
