this song makes me sad.
it makes want to go hug an old person.
but that's not my point; i'm guessing it's about an elderly couple
and one of the spouses dies, and then one of them is rembering the "fun times" they had.
but y would they be writing about old couples? alex n miles seem to write bout life experiences, so im more in line with callmepresh, its an "its over" love poem, not about an elderly couple

Why? Because this album is almost like a relationship itself. This is obviously the END of a WHOLE relationship. Any song can be cut in pieces and interpreted as experiences, the whole album is an experience, old people are full of experience. You saying the song isn't mentioning an old couple is ignorance.

TLSP obviously uses the image of an old man who has lost his lover to death. You link this to "Meeting Place" and you see this is where the old man finally got over a trauma of going near the meeting place. He now goes and...

"If only they were seventeen" obviously brings attention time, when they WERE younger.
Just because you put the song in YOUR situation like callmepresh, doesn't mean that wasn't what the song's context was about.
