Well, obviously, if it's from when she was a child, I'm wrong, but... First of all, I was reading this, thinking "WHERE CAN I GET THIS SONG??!!"

From the time I was 12 I was obsessed with tori amos. My mother didn't like it all that much. Looking back, from 1996 forward... that was one of the better, more empowering things I could have been listening to. My mother didn't like her because she talked about sexuality and god. For the same reasons I loved her-she questioned these things. I'm a better woman for learning to question.

I once read a quote from Tori where she said her mission was just to teach one girl to be her own savior...

That's what this made me think of. Many mothers don't want their daughters to be their own saviors - bt it's in the daughter's best interest.
