\It's long comment\ I'm not a native English speaker, but I did some work to understand this lyric.. and this is how I get it. If estimate this lyric superficially it's definitely about S&M, but I believe that It has more deep meaning, 'cause Chris is so intelligent and thinking man, you know.

I think it's about religion. Yes, I know that Corner is not a believer. I'll try to explain:

"From the fall I hold the word conviction And the thrill to the swell is in your golden touch"- it's about, how people believe in everything that is in bible and pastors' speeches, that words keeps them from the fall into sin ( they think so), and they are thrilled in religious ecstasy, they feel god's touch. "But the flesh is weak and without reason So I slave to your beat and soul for all time" - it's about parting human beings on soul and body, flesh is weak, it's "bad", flesh makes sins, flesh is needed to be punished. And therefore they slave souls to divine serving. Refrain is some kind of satirizing of dumb and immeasurable worship.

"When you strike with soul and quick precision I'm snagged by a nervous twitch and cold desire" pastors can turn the person into nervous believing by one straight phrase with right intonations and gestures, its like a hit in sore spot. Religion actually is a set of such kind of kicks.

"But they say the wretched get their kingdom Breathe on, it's my time, let's go, we all die" - about heaven and paradise, we all die and go to heaven but while we're alive we stay in wrecheds kingdom. It's like "Hey, people life is nothing, let's prepare to the trip to other world"

"The trouble is me, you The trouble is me, you Oh, the trouble is me, you The trouble is me, you" - dialog with "god" who is right, live person with all shit inside or some holy substance?

we could make a lot of suggestions about meaning but we won't get it till Mr Corner tell us everything in straight phrases.
