Haha I'm lacking any evidence behind this one, but could this garden be the Garden of Eden? The old man with the long hair would then be God, who will kick you out if he pleases: "there's no sort of safety here".
And by eating the forbidden fruit, their bellies are full, and they certainly won't be going to heaven anytime soon.
My question then, is how the hell did they get there?
