I always thought it was "I feel better when I paint my days with purple SEAS and left-out greys" as opposed to the normal blue seas.. since the next line talks about "strange is just a different point of view." It's like he's saying dare to be different.. don't worry about what other people think if you do something outta-the-norm. :) At least that's what I get out of this song. I love it, and the message that it sends.
