As a heroin addict I'd like to share my thoughts on this song:

(When you inject heroin you tie something around your injection site to cut off circulation. You then put the needle in, inject, and then take it out)
I have found a fast solution to the pain.
(Heroin is a VERY FAST solution to pain. When you shoot it hits you almost instantly)
Painted walls, melt away, am I a ghost ? Decide to stay.
(Sometimes if you get high enough you can actually trip off of heroin. Walls can melt away and you dissappear into your own head. I'm not sure about the decide to stay part)
I am shooting my solution in the rain.
(Duh)

(There was an article written in the 60s by the government about how chooising the life of a heroin addict is choosing to be one of the "living dead")

(I don't know here, I guess I agree with everyone else about dying and then watching your life over again. But what if we're all already dead and watching it now? I don't know)

(Staying up late and enjoying the view are two things heroin will do to you. You'll stay up and enjoy how messed up you get, especially at night. Sing with me die with you I think is perhaps about how joyous heroin is, but how much it kills you as well.

("Fading" is a term for getting so doped up on any opiate that you almost pass out. Watch the night turn into day has happened to me many times as you just keep getting high over the night.

(Injection filled with contempt is pretty obvious to me shooting up but how much you hate yourself for doing it. I think he's saying he was fine before he met heroin.

Any parts I didn't go over are obviously parts I don't get. It just seems to be this song is definitely about shooting heroin there's so many slangs and cues that I recognize, especially when he used the term "fade". ex "Dude I'm so faded right now."
