This song is amazing...I love Alesana! They're songs are awesome! When I first heard this song I thought it could be about a guy who's like obsessed with a girl (hence the title I guess) and is stalking her. Finally his obsession takes over and he closes in on her and she's terrified (Her trembling is driving me wild! Her shrieks are so intoxicating!) but he loves her fear.
Then I was looking at some Brothers Grimm stories, since that's what a lot of the songs on this album are based off of and I found a story that's a bit similar to this song. It's called " Mary's Child". It's about a girl who is taken to Heaven by the Virgin Mary because her parents couldn't take care of her. She lived in Heaven and was very happy. Then one day the Virgin Mary has to leave for a while and gives the girl 13 keys to 13 doors. She is allowed to open all but the 13th one, or she will be very unhappy. The girl agrees but ends up wanting to open the 13th door, which relates to this song: "What is beyond taht door? As I take a step back I wonder could I go on and turn the key?" Finally she does and the Virgin Mary sends her to earth where she basically suffers. It doesn't exactly match the song but it's kind of similar. Anyways that's just what I found.
