I just bought the album today and I've sung this song at the top of my lungs about 8 times!
Its obviously about a break up - they broke up and she's really not over it. But I don't think the guy is gone - but she's talking about dealing with people she knows like her friends and family. Those are the hardest to face after a break up. I personally love the line
"Whenever I see you I will swallow my pride and bite my tongue."
That is the hardest thing to do when you see that person is to act like you are okay when your heart is broken...
