I see it like boy and girl, they have a thing. He doesn't really know how he feels about her but it's obvious what he feels about him, she really likes him and interested. He might not be the relationship kind of guy... "Well you better not look my way" I see him saying that as in he almost feels guilty when he catches her eyes looking at him. "Well I don't like the things that you're sayin'" She might be threatening him, saying that if he doesn't make it official or at least acknowledge then she's going to stop giving herself away so easily.
"But then I always hear us saying" meaning how they agree on only one thing, just getting together when he's in the mood. "I don't need remindin' of whose been here before" is him saying how she probably brings up all the other girls that have been in his bed besides her, which bothers her and him for her reminding him everytime she comes over.
"I'm tryin' i'm tryin'" seems like he's almost pestered by her antagonizing him, like he's saying "I'm trying to figure out how I feel." and he's tired of it.
I think the reason he repeats the first two verses after the one when he talks about how they say "come around honey" is because he's over it, and doesn't want her to look at him cause he still feels slightly guilty. It's a repeating pattern.
