the beginning classical piece is light and kind of frilly, which I would refer that to the thoughts of a young person, or the ignorant bliss thinking of a young person. Then it turns into a darker sort of vibe, letting us know that this feeling is not all what it's cracked up to be. "spitting out the demons, hopping out of holes" tells us of their adventure trying to fight off peer pressure and all of the "glamorous" things society pushes on us. So, it would refer to war, drugs, or any other thing which is constantly being thrown at you when you are in that young ignorant blissful age.
