ok so the song is about a girl who knows tht her boyfriend is cheating on her (don't know if with a girl or guy, and to tell the truth, does it really matter?) and she goes to get a drink. as this is happening, you can tell she's about to do something crazy, or something she might regret. An idea began hatching, and her thoughts shifted "from her whiskey to her keys." She calls her friend to get reassurance, and to get her to keep her from do doing whatever it is she's half-planning to do. But instead, her friend eggs her on. So they do out to the city and hook up. She tells the random guy that he "might have a chance" if he takes her around town to clubs, etc. I think the man who she doesn't meet is either the man he's cheating on her with or the friend/boss/whatever that he's using as an excuse to get away. Just because Brandon sings about stuff like that doesn't mean anything. People can write about anything they can imagine. I don't think the Decemberists were ever eaten by a whale, or JK Rowling went to a ~magical~ school... and if he is gay or bi or whatever, why does that matter?
