This song (actually titled "After Afterall") is part two to the song called "Afterall" on the previous album, Goodnight.

This entire album is based on William's previous marriage and it's disintegration. This first "stage" if you will is William stating that after all the hardships that his relationship has been through, he wants to make those marriage vows ring true (for better or worse, in sickness and health, til death do us part).

The second part shows a realization that after all the hardships the relationship has been through, the damage is irreconcilable in his mind- (please don't keep me) but the female voice wants to make it work (please don't leave me).
