i agree with No One Really because the songs are similar. a lot of the songs on this album talk about drugs and partying. this one is basically the story of someone being on the verge of an OD and everybody else being too high or selfish to care. The person is afraid they're going to die so they "pray for safe passage through the night" and hope that they survive until morning. It seems like this might be an experience that would change the person's drug habits and lead them to living healthier and taking care of themselves, but Matt calls the addiction an "endless search" and it doesn't seem like there is much chance for change or improvement because they sold their souls to their addictions.
