Let me preface all of this by saying this is one of my favorite praise songs of all time.

In all honesty, I'm sure of what the "I've been breaking..." lines mean, I've been wrestling with them for a while to no avail. The lines "the brilliance" through "one day I'm scared" to me sound like he's talking about how brilliantly on-fire we can be for God, and after a while that starts to "flicker" out, eventually letting our pride and egos get in the way, to where we're ashamed to go back to our Father for forgiveness, because of our sins, even though we know we'll be forgiven.

The next part, about parting the shadows and destroying the blindness are (to me) simply praises to God, telling Him what He is, and what He does.

The chorus (which happens to be my favorite part) is basically telling God that if it will bring Him praise, that He can have our broken hearts, our beaten souls, and that we will lift our hands in praise to Him. The second half simply points out that the hope we have in God is unstoppable by anything. The "wake up oh sleeper; the daylight has come" is a reference to Ephesians 5:14 as well.

The song basically repeats itself from here on out. Nevertheless, one of the most beautiful and passionate songs ever written.
