To me it takes on the opposite of the literal meaning, and it sounds like torture. The same "perfect" night over and over would cease to be perfect. Which I suppose is why it says, "It's hard to imagine that nothing at all could be so exciting, could be so much fun." But we're all trying to "get to the bar" and enjoy some version of perfect.
