I can't believe nobody commented on this song! If ever there was a great southern rock song, this is it. A guitar great telling an intriguing western tale and tearing it up on the guitar. A simple story of love and revenge artistically interpreted to perfection. R.I.P Hughie Thomasson

I agree with ya' on this one. The Outlaws were definitely the most original of the Southern Rock bands that came out of the 70's. Not only a great song but a great album as well. Holiday, Man of the Hour, Hearin' my heart talkin', Gunsmoke. Amazing stuff from the Florida Guitar Army. The lyrics to this song are superb; great story provided by H.T. and the guitar harmonies are brilliant. If you listen to the live version on Bring it Back Alive, towards the end of the song where he repeats the first verse he says: Gypsys danced around...
