Maybe this is about the loss of one of Morten's parent, though I absolutely don't know if something like that happened in his life. The references to "demons" fit in this interpretation, as children are often scared by demons and evil things. And the line "I wish you could be right here to mend my broken life" may refer to the fact that he's looking for some comfort he can't find anywhere else than in his lost one.
