SEASON OF ILLUSIONS

obliterate the sunday you've been cherising all week obliterating sunday is a pleasure you can keep you thought you'd learn new speak today but esperanto's out of date it's just another sunday, now top of the pops is dead and if the morning gets you down and then the evening lets you down, obliterating sunday's fair play

obliterate the sunday, just keep your phone away exposing wrong intentions won't make it easier to wake a season of illusions a pocketful of doubts a night of fading stars and a legacy of clouds obliterate the sunday. the black sea's out of reach, a heatwave's no relief, you'll find a palm tree in your sleep

you're hiding from answers, dodging the sea you spend the day scheming, you're no Houdini train has pulled out, light has pulled in you're chasing escape you can't buy on the street

@MusicJunkie09 Agree on everything but "now top of the pops is dead" which makes no sense. Instead it should be "no topic, the boss is dead" which is typical of any day off like Sunday.

@MusicJunkie09 I retract my 2018 comment in whole. Top of the Pops was a popular British show. However, I do think the lyric "you're hiding from answer" is really "you're hiding from monsters", and "you're no Houdini" is really "you're a Houdini". :-)
