Aftermath Lyrics

This is one of the most startling songs I've ever listened to. I think it's about a bullied kid, but what's so haunting is how easily he can reconcile the feelings of faith in Jesus and the murdering of his enemies. and the imagery at the beginning of the song is so haunting... it's like the dropping of the Atom Bomb on Japan evolves into the Holocaust which evolves into the story of a depressed alcoholic painter, and then the painter remembering being taunted by his peers in childhood, and at the end when he says, "I'll kill them all and if I fail, I'll kill whoever I can find..." you can almost see him lift the bottle to his lips, eyes rolled back in his head, and at once praying and giving up hope that the prayer will be answered.
