This song is obviously about domestic abuse.. particularly child abuse. From what the song, in my opinion, portrays is a father who hit his kid and he regrets what he has done but it's a reoccurs often. All the lyrics are too self-explanatory, something we don't see too often from Geoff as a songwriter but it's easily accepted because it's still brilliant. This band has reinvented themselves and I couldn't be more content with the new album. Still my favorite band today. I'll be buying it on 2/17.
