I think it's clear that the omission of "there's no restraining order to keep me from you..." and it being change to "we outside never win," proves once again that people who take ATDI lyrics literally are dumb/silly. The song (even in its original form) is clearly about an artist who obsesses over the popularity of another artist. Perhaps someone younger from the same circle of friends/scene (hence... INITIATION). There is a lot of stalker/violent imagery, but I'm pretty sure that's just supposed to be an insult to this younger person, rather than to be taken as a literal portrayal of events.
Heh, it's funny cuz I used to always my friends who dug TMV and ATDI that their lyrics seemed like a bunch of mishmosh poetry almost. 90% of it seemed to make absolutely no sense, and when I would read explanations most of those didn't help much. What i did notice as I got older, is a lot of these songs are really self-explanatory... hullahoop wounds for example, I doubt I wouldve put that correlation together when I first heard it.

but this song? I always for some odd reason thought it was about Selena & her tour manager, and that...
but this song? I always for some odd reason thought it was about Selena & her tour manager, and that whole shindig- but for all I know that couldve happened after this song was written. lol I know that I'm probably 100% wrong, but the first time I heard it that's what popped into my head. dunno why. it just sounded right.
