Angelina Lyrics

I think...Angelina is his sister or childhood friend, and Kimberly is his love, of course. This song sounds so young and bright and hopeful, especially compared to a lot of Shearwater's other stuff.

"Aren't we lucky to stand in this funeral line?" I have no idea how to unravel this line. I suppose a lot of this song is expressing contrast, of life and death together and being joyful just to be living, like in The World in 1984: "Kid, you're lucky to be alive".

"I told her that though I can't bend back the barbs of these wires, aren't we lucky to live in this world full of fire, and I told her about how you would sing for your life as a child, and I showed her azaleas and books of pressed flowers you pulled wild" This is just overwhelmingly skillful. I don't know what it all means but it's stunning.
