i think it's about a person who didn't take the conventional road of success cos he thought that the people in coporate/office/blah jobs are like "photocopies" (duplicates of each other with no own personality, and photocopies usually come in low quality, boring black and white) so he decided to "let go of the whole world" (maybe he had such a job that made him feel very lifelss then he decided to quit it)

It pretty much speaks for itself, but I agree with you, it's about breaking free from routine and taking control of your life before it controls you.
