I think that it has less to do with an "innapropriate" love affair and more to do with the end of a long and meaningful relationship. I think it has a lot to do with struggling to move forward in life after your heart has been badly broken, yet still holding onto the memories of the love that has gone.

"I open out my wings of glass. Up and towards the wind-melted future" to me means that the protagonist is making an effort to move forward but still feels fragile after being wounded like that.

"I lay my head on top of the heavy and closed out door and I pray" to me means that he is dwelling on his memories of the past, the past that is gone and can never be experienced again (it is closed off to him), and he is praying that he can get ahead after the end. Praying that he can be happy again after being thrust into darkness.

I don't think the line about the child being born pure has anything to do with a real child. I think it has more to do with the fact that the future will be pure of the one he lost, the future will not involve her. And he thinks that without her the future will be empty of substance.

Whatever it means it is a very beautiful song. It has become one of my favorite Dir en grey songs.
