I agree that he could potentially be having a conversation with God, either that or close friend or loved one. Suicide is also a possible option as to the topic of the conversation, but I dont think its limited to that. The person being spoken to could simply be depressed, lazy (you've got to do the work, so get your ass up), or be in some sort of rut, and the person talking to him/her is trying to encourage them to get up and get past it. Many lines point to this such as "you've got to keep moving, you've got to keep pushing," "Now's a good time to learn how to pull through," etc. So I agree with your idea, I just dont think its limited to just God and suicide. Oh, and I like this song. Its solid.
