This was always my favorite song off this album... I never had any idea it was so political until I read the lyrics just now. . It's obviously anti-war, I'm guessing Vietnam because of the line "killing red in nam". But I think it's mainly meant to be one of Ogre's rambles, with the general idea of violence and killing as a solution... Besides war, the death penalty is discussed, and possibly abortion, the line "It's useless killing children" immediately makes me think of abortion, but it could still be going with the idea of war, and a soldier killing a child, I wonder what they mean with "to satisfy the arms budget". anyway that's my favorite part of one of my favorite songs
This too was one of my favorites from the CFM album,i also never had any idea it was an anti-war song, which now now makes me like it even more.theres an obvious Vietnam reference. But like the other person said i dont think it has anything to do with abortion the line"its use less killing children" i think is about in war there are always casualties but casualties include men women and children.and to me the line"to satisfy the arms budget"means because all wars are created for business strategy, one of the biggest selling points to starting a war is selling and buying...

"satisfy the arms budget" I could be way off base, but I can certainly see certain governments giving more money to their military than their military can reasonably use. Maybe to satisfy citizens who want to feel safe from attack even when the country is not involved in anything like a war. Maybe because the military itself is demanding a bigger budget and you don't want to not give money to the guys with the guns. Either way the military has to find some way of spending this extra cash to show their government that they "need"...
