SOAD has another song called "Soil", which is about a friend who killed himself. I think this song is about the same friend, but written after coming to terms with his death. "Streamline" is much less angry, and also ends in a restful way - the complete opposite of "Soil".
Don't know why I see that connection but it's interesting nonetheless.
